Tint & Paint Protection Troubleshooting Guide

Noticing a change in your window film or ClearBra? Use this guide to plan your next step, then contact Trim & Tint about your installation. Follow the care instructions for your particular film. These answers cannot replace an inspection.

Car Window Haze, Peeling & Visibility

Why does newly tinted glass look hazy?

Installation moisture can temporarily affect appearance while film dries. Follow the aftercare you received; if haze persists or obstructs your view, contact Trim & Tint before driving.

What should I do if tint starts peeling at an edge?

Avoid pulling or trimming it. Note when it started and contact Trim & Tint to arrange an inspection; the cause and remedy cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.

Why has older tint changed color or developed bubbles?

Film or adhesive deterioration may be involved. Let Trim & Tint review the condition and any warranty paperwork before deciding whether replacement is appropriate.

What if my tinted windows are difficult to see through at night?

Do not drive with an obstructed view. Discuss the visibility problem with Trim & Tint; shade, glass, lighting, and film condition need to be considered.

How can I avoid scratching tinted windows when cleaning?

Use a clean, soft cloth and a nonabrasive cleaner suitable for your film. Follow the initial waiting period given by Trim & Tint; avoid blades and gritty cleaning tools.

Home Window Glare, Heat & Appearance

Why does my room still feel warm after tinting?

Film reduces solar heat through treated glass, but other heat sources remain. Tell Trim & Tint which room and time of day are affected when discussing the result.

What if sunlight still causes glare on my television?

Note the sun's direction and which windows cause the reflection. Trim & Tint can discuss whether the installed film matches the glare problem and your daylight preferences.

Why can people see inside my tinted windows after dark?

Privacy changes with the lighting on each side of the glass. Use curtains or blinds as needed and ask Trim & Tint about your day-and-night privacy goals.

Should I press out moisture pockets in newly installed home window film?

No. Leave the film undisturbed while it cures. Ask Trim & Tint about the expected drying period for your installation and report areas that persist or worsen.

Can film fix a cracked window or fog between panes?

Do not treat film as a repair for damaged glass or a failed sealed unit. Discuss the condition with a qualified glazing professional before planning tint with Trim & Tint.

Workplace Glare, Comfort & Film Care

What if glare moves to another workstation during the day?

Keep a brief record of the affected desks, windows, and times. Share it with Trim & Tint so the film discussion addresses the whole workday.

Why do some office windows look different after tinting?

Check whether the panes have different glass, coatings, or previous film. Share photos and installation details with Trim & Tint before assuming every pane should look identical.

What should our cleaners do if they notice scratches in the film?

Stop using abrasive pads or scraping tools on the affected surface. Send Trim & Tint the product and cleaning details, then confirm the appropriate care instructions.

What should we do if film starts lifting on a storefront pane?

Leave the edge alone and contact Trim & Tint for an assessment. Note any recent cleaning, impact, or other change instead of applying glue or cutting the film.

What if our business needs more privacy than the installed tint provides?

Describe when and where visibility is a concern, including after-dark conditions. Trim & Tint can discuss the requirement before you choose a replacement or additional treatment.

ClearBra Lifting, Stains & Surface Marks

What should I do if a ClearBra edge begins to lift?

Avoid picking at the edge or directing a pressure washer at it. Contact Trim & Tint with photos and the installation date for an assessment.

How should I deal with bugs or bird droppings on paint protection film?

Remove contamination promptly using the film's care instructions and a gentle wash. Avoid abrasive scrubbing. Ask Trim & Tint for advice if a mark remains.

Can I polish a scratch out of my ClearBra?

Do not use abrasive polish or rubbing compound on the film. Ask Trim & Tint to assess the mark and identify the product before attempting a treatment.

What if I notice a bubble or mark shortly after ClearBra installation?

Do not puncture it, heat it, or try to flatten it yourself. Give Trim & Tint the installation date and a photo so the area can be assessed.

Can I wash the vehicle immediately after paint protection film is fitted?

3M advises waiting at least 72 hours after PPF installation before washing. Follow the instructions supplied by Trim & Tint for your film; gentle hand washing is preferred.

Security Film Damage & Glass Concerns

What should I do if filmed glass cracks after an impact?

Keep people away and arrange professional glass repair. Film may retain fragments, but damaged glass still needs attention. Notify Trim & Tint when planning replacement film.

What if security film has been cut or torn?

Do not assume the damaged area retains its original performance. Have the glazing made safe if necessary, then contact Trim & Tint to discuss an inspection.

Why are the edges of my security film lifting?

An inspection is needed to assess the film and its installation. Avoid glue or DIY trimming; give Trim & Tint photos, the installation date, and any recent cleaning details.

Can I add another film over existing security film to change its appearance?

Check compatibility before adding another layer. Contact Trim & Tint with the existing product details so the proposed change can be evaluated.

What if I do not know which security film is installed?

Look for the original invoice, product name, and installation records. Share them with Trim & Tint; appearance alone cannot establish the film's specification or protective performance.
